Grape Tomato

The grape tomato is a small, oblong tomato variety, smaller than a cherry tomato, believed to have been developed in Asia before spreading to Western markets in the late 20th century.

Its small size, thin skin, and burst of sweetness make it popular raw in salads and as a garnish, and it holds its shape well when roasted or sautéed, unlike softer cherry tomato varieties, making it a good match for pasta, pizza, and bruschetta.

Grape tomatoes are intensely sweet with a slight acidity, and pair well with fresh herbs like basil, oregano, and thyme, as well as garlic, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and cheeses such as mozzarella, feta, and goat cheese.
