Seasoned Salt

Seasoned salt is a blend of salt with dried herbs, spices, and other seasonings such as garlic, onion, paprika, and black pepper, used to add a complex, savory flavor beyond salt alone.

Many cuisines have their own signature blends: Cajun seasoning (paprika, garlic, onion, cayenne pepper) from Louisiana's Creole and Cajun cuisines, and Old Bay seasoning (celery salt, ginger, mustard) from the Chesapeake Bay region.

It is used as a dry rub for meats, poultry, and seafood; sprinkled on vegetables, potatoes, eggs, or popcorn; or worked into marinades, sauces, and dressings. Common variations include lemon pepper seasoning and Italian seasoning salt.
