Sweet Potato Fries

Sweet potato fries are strips of sweet potato fried or baked until crisp outside and tender inside. Because sweet potatoes have more natural sugar than white or yellow potatoes, they caramelize readily, giving a golden-brown exterior; they're often seasoned with salt, pepper, paprika, cumin, or cinnamon to play up that sweetness. They are served as a side to burgers and sandwiches, or as a snack with dips such as ketchup, aioli, or ranch dressing. Baked fries and thicker-cut potato wedges are common lower-fat alternatives to deep-fried fries.
