Ingredients

• ½ cup (one stick) unsalted butter, at room temperature
• 2/3 cup granulated sugar
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
• 2 1/4 cups all purpose flour
• 1 large egg
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 4-6 egg yolks, preferably in white ramekins or small white or clear bowls
• small pitcher water to dilute the yolks
• food coloring
• 4-6 small paint brushes (synthetic bristles work best)
• 2/3 cups butter or baking margarine, softened
• 1 cup sugar
• 3 large eggs
• 1 2/3 cups skim milk or 1 cup half-n-half and 2/3 cup water
• 2 1/3 cups all-purpose flour or masa
• 1 cup cornmeal
• 4 teaspoons double action baking powder
• 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
• 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
• 5 lbs. Potatoes - cook, cool, peel, & slice
• 1 cup Onion - chopped
• 1 lbs. Bacon - fried crisp
• 1/4 cup flour
• 3 cups hot water
• 1 cup Vinegar
• Salt & Pepper to taste
• 1/2 dozen Eggs - hard boil, chill, & chop
