  • salt (to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon cumin
  • 1/2 tablespoon ground cinnnamon
  • 1/2 tablespoon caraway
  • 1/2 tablespoon 7 spices
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1/2 teaspoon turkish coffee (or nescafe, chef tip: this is to get the dish darker)
  • 1/2 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • rosemary
  • dried bay leaves
  • cardamom
  • fresh lime
  • cloves
  • cinnamon sticks
  • water
  • 1 cup assorted fried nuts (typically includes pine nuts, almonds, cashews )
