Black Walnut Apple Cake – Fisher Nuts

• 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
• 1 cup granulated sugar
• 3/4 cup dark brown sugar
• 2 ounces (1 pkg.) Fisher® Black Walnuts, divided
• 2 teaspoons baking soda
• 1/2 teaspoon table salt
• 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
• 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
• 4 eggs
• 3 cups flour
• 1-1/4 cups unsweetened smooth or chunky applesauce
