Ingredients

• 1/4 cup warm water
• 1 tsp yeast
• 3 1/2 cups plain white flour (may be pastry flour)
• 1/2 tsp salt
• 1 cup unsalted butter
• 1/2 cup sour cream
• 2 large eggs (or three small ones)
• 3 tsps vanilla (1 for dough, 2 tsps for sugar)
• 3 cups white sugar
