Ingredients

• 2 ounces bourbon
• 2 ounces brandy
• 6 large egg yolks
• 2 cups half-and-half
• 1/2 whole nutmeg, crushed with a heavy pan
• 1/2 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
• 2 ounces rum
• 1/2 cup sugar
• 1 vanilla bean, split lengthwise and seeds scraped out
