Ingredients

• 1 pound lean ground beef
• 1 medium onion, minced
• 2 cloves garlic, minced
• 6 button mushrooms, chopped finely
• 2 carrots, peeled and diced finely
• 1 handful fresh parsley, chopped
• 1/4 cup barbecue sauce, plus more for garnish
• 1 egg
• 1/2 cup bread crumbs, preferably panko
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
