• 1 tsp cumin powder
• 1 3/4 cups tomato sauce
• 2 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
• 1 onion, chopped into 1 inch pieces
• 2 cups rice
• 1 1/4 cups vegetable broth
• 1/2 tsp of saffron or turmeric
• 1 lb of mixed vegetables (green peas, carrots, beans, corn etc.) fresh or frozen
• 1 cup peeled and deveined medium shrimp
