• 2 pounds beef stew meat, cut into 1 inch cubes
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
• 1 bay leaf
• 1 small sprig fresh rosemary or 1 teaspoon chopped dry rosemary
• 1 teaspoon paprika
• 1 tablespoon tomato paste
• 1 tablespoon quick tapioca
• 1 large onion, chopped
• 1 1/2 cups beef broth
• 3 potatoes, diced
• 4 carrots, sliced
• 1 stalk celery, chopped
