Sparkling pomegranate cocktail recipe

Ingredients

• 1 cup of sugar
• ½ cup of water
• 3 cups of pomegranate juice (about 24 fl ounces or 710ml)
• ¼ to ½ cup simple syrup (adjust based your preference or use your favorite sweetener)
• Juice from 2 limes
• 1 oz. – 8 oz. of tequila (adjust to your taste)
• 1 bottle chilled champagne or sparkling wine
• Fresh pomegranate arils or seeds to garnish
• Sugar to garnish rims
