Banana bread recipe - from the The Doyle and Coleen Young Family Cookbook Family Cookbook

Ingredients

• BANANA BREAD
• 1/2 c. shortening (Crisco) (I use coconut oil)
• 2 eggs
• 1 tsp. soda
• 1 c. ripe bananas
• 1 c. sugar (or 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 cup brown sugar)
• 2 c. flour
• 1/2 tsp. salt
• 1/2 c. nuts (optional)
• 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
• 1/4 tsp. Ginger, allspice and nutmeg
• 1 tsp. vanilla
• (I sometimes add 1/4 cup applesauce)
