Ingredients

  • 1 - 750 ml bottle of white wine - about 3 1/4 cups, dry or sweet
  • 1/2 cup white rum (118 ml)
  • 3/4 cup fruit juice (177 ml) - orange juice works well but so does any light coloured fruit juice like apple mango pineapple.
  • About a cup and a half of chopped fruit, including any combination of berries (I used strawberries) and stone fruit (I used cherries and peaches). Apples and tropical fruits work well, too.
  • A Sweet Citrus fruit, including an orange, mandarin or tangerine, sliced with peel on, and cut into quarters if they're big.
  • Part of a Sour Citrus fruit - about 1/2 a lemon or lime, cut as above.
  • About 1 tablespoon sugar, or to taste. The amount you add is based on the sweetness of the wine you use and how sweet you like your drink.
  • 1 to 2 cups sparkling water (aka soda water)
