German Chocolate Layer Cake ⋆ Hunter Gatherer Gourmet

Ingredients

• 2 x HGG chocolate baking mix
• 1 1/2 cup sugar
• 1 3⁄4 cups unsalted butter, softened or coconut oil
• 2 1⁄2 tsp. vanilla extract
• 8 large egg yolks
• 340g coconut milk
• 1 1⁄2 cups roughly chopped pecans
• 200g shredded coconut
• 170g dark chocolate chopped
• 1 cup buttermilk (to make buttermilk simply add one tbs of lemon juice or vinegar to milk of your choice and let sit for 5-10 min at room temp)
• 4 large egg whites
