Carrot and Cantaloupe Smoothies
Full of flavor but fat-free, as it uses 0% Greek yogurt instead of whole milk. Fresh orange juice goes well with this blend.
Ingredients
- Color: A ripe cantaloupe should have a creamy yellow, beige, or sandy gold rind. If the rind is predominantly green, it’s not quite ready.
- Sound: A ripe cantaloupe should make a low, solid sound when you tap it lightly with your fingers. If it sound hollow or high-pitched, it may be overripe or underripe.
- 3 cups cubed cantaloupe frozen
- 1 cup grated carrot
- 1 cup fresh squeezed orange juice
- ⅔ cup plain whole milk Greek yogurt
- 1 teaspoon orange zest
- Add lime juice, orange juice (This helps the blender blades break through hard frozen fruit.
- Add yogurt next to ensure they are well blended the liquid.
- Add frozen cantaloupe
- Add grated carrot
- Add orange Zest
- Pulse a few times, then puree until smooth, scraping down the side as necessary.
- Add more water or milk to reach your desire consistency.
