- 4 large apples ((see variety notes below))
- 1/2 cup apple cider
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp crystallized ginger ((finely chopped - optional))
- 1/4 cup hazelnuts ((chopped))
- 1/4 cup oatmeal ((or try dried cranberries, raisins, etc))
- 1 Tbs butter ((divided))
