- ½ tsp salt (could substitute half for garlic salt, if you like that)

- ¾ cup white sugar (if you want to substitute brown sugar, cut back to ½ cup)
- ¼ cup vinegar
- 2 cups boiling water
- 2 tbsp flour
- 2 tbsp soya sauce
