Most of my South African readers would know Lamingtons by the name of ‘ystervarkies’ – a well known, sweet favorite among the baking experts and surely a winner
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter (softened)
- 1/2 cup milk
- 3/4 cups sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
- pinch salt
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 1 cup water
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 cup desiccated coconut
