• 3/4 cup buttermilk
• 1 teaspoon soda — Dissolved in 1 tbls boiling water
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 3 cups flour
• 1 teaspoon baking powder
• 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
• 1/4 cup raisins
