Applesauce Cake Recipe

Ingredients

• 2 1/4 cup whole wheat pastry flour (all-purpose flour can be used, too)
• 2 teaspoon baking soda
• 3/4 teaspoon salt
• 1 teaspoon cinnamon
• 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
• 2 cups brown sugar
• 2 cups unsweetened applesauce
• 2/3 cup canola oil
• 2 eggs
• 1 tablespoon vanilla
• 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
• Powdered sugar (optional)
