- 1/2 t salt
- 1 t vanilla
- 1/2 C boiling water
- 1 C butter
- 1 C buttermilk
- 2 1/2 C sifted cake flour
- 2 C sugar
- 4 egg whites, stiffly beaten
- 1 t baking soda
- 4 egg yolks
- 1 C evaporated milk
- 3 egg yolks
- 1 C chopped pecans (or walnuts)
- 1 C sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 1/3 C coconut
