Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate cookie crumbs (chocolate sandwich cookies work well)
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cold milk
  • 1 (16-ounce) container whipped topping (like Cool Whip)
  • 2 (3.9-ounce) packages instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 3 1/4 cups cold milk
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 2 cups whipped topping (additional)
  • Chocolate shavings or chocolate chips for garnish (optional)
  • In a food processor, pulse the chocolate cookies until they become fine crumbs.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the cookie crumbs with the melted butter until well combined.
  • Press the mixture into the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish to form an even crust. Use the back of a spoon to press it firmly.
  • Place the crust in the refrigerator while you prepare the filling.
  • In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth and creamy.
  • Add the granulated sugar and 2 tablespoons of cold milk, and mix until well combined.
  • Gently fold in the whipped topping until the mixture is smooth and fluffy.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the instant chocolate pudding mix, 3 1/4 cups of cold milk, and vanilla extract until it thickens, about 2 minutes.
  • Add the chocolate pudding to the cream cheese mixture and fold it in until everything is well incorporated.
  • Remove the crust from the refrigerator and spread the chocolate filling evenly over it.
  • Carefully spread the additional 2 cups of whipped topping over the chocolate filling, creating a top layer.
  • If desired, garnish with chocolate shavings or chocolate chips for added texture and presentation.
  • Cover the baking dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate the Chocolate Lasagna for at least 4 hours or until it's set.
  • For best results, let it chill overnight to allow the flavors to meld.
  • Slice and serve the Chocolate Lasagna, savoring the layers of chocolatey goodness.
