• 6 to 8 plums (skin on, halved and pitted)
• 3/4 cup sugar
• 1/2 cup butter (at room temperature)
• 2 eggs
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
• 1 teaspoon baking powder
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
• 1/2 cup milk
• 1/2 cup brown sugar (packed)
• 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
• 1 teaspoon cinnamon
• 1/4 cup butter (cold)
• 3/4 cup icing sugar
• 1 tablespoon milk
• 3 drops almond extract ( (optional))
