• 3 pounds sweet potato , peeled and sliced very thin
• 1 ⁄ 4 cup butter
• 1 tablespoon oil
• 1 1 ⁄ 2 tablespoons fresh minced garlic
• 3 tablespoons honey
• 1 ⁄ 2 teaspoon dried basil
• 1.5 teaspoons red pepper flakes , or to taste
• 1 teaspoon salt and pepper , or to taste
• 2 tablespoons fresh parsley or green onions , chopped for garnish
