• 1 cup buttermilk
• 1 large egg beaten
• 1/2 cup currants or raisins
• 2 cups All purpose flour
• 1/4 cup sugar
• 2 teaspoons Baking powder
• 1 teaspoon caraway seeds
• 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
