  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 whole large egg
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 teaspoons molasses
  • 1 tablespoon butter (for the pan or griddle)
  • maple syrup, powdered sugar, butter (garnishes for the wheatcakes - optional)
