• ½ tsp baking soda
• ¾ cup unsalted butter, melted
• 1 ¼ cups flour
• 1 tsp baking powder
• ½ tsp salt
• 4 oz unsweetened chocolate
• ¾ cup vegetable shortening
• 2 cups sugar
• 4 eggs, at room temperature
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• 1 tsp chocolate extract ((see note))
