  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 pound dried pasta, such as DeLallo Spaghetti or Rigatoni
  • ½ cup freshly grated parmigiano reggiano cheese (parmesan)
  • Chopped fresh basil leaves, for garnish (optional)
  • Reserved pasta water
