Piernik biscuits

Ingredients

• 8 steps
• 1 tablespoon sugar melt in saucepan, allow to caramelize
• 1/4 cup water boil
• 2 cups sugar dissolve
• 1 cup honey bring to boil, leave to cool
• 1/2 teaspoon cloves
• 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
• 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
• 4 cups flour sift
• knead very well, adding more flour as necessary to make an elastic dough; refrigerate 30 minutes
• 1/2 cup butter
• 2 eggs
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
