  • 260 grams (2 cups) all-purpose flour
  • 60 grams (½ cup) cake flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 tablespoons caraway seeds, coarsely ground (see headnote)
  • ½ teaspoon table salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • ¼ cup finely chopped fresh dill
  • ¼ cup finely chopped fresh chives
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 85 grams grams (6 tablespoons) salted butter, melted, divided
  • 11.2 - 12 ounce bottle Irish red ale, such as Smithwick’s or Killian’s (see headnote)
