Ingredients

• 2 cloves garlic, minced
• 1 onion, finely chopped
• 1 lb ground beef
• 1 egg
• 1/2 cup uncooked rice
• 1/2 cup raisins
• 1 tbsp cinnamon
• 2 tbsp fresh thyme, stems removed, rough chopped
• salt and pepper to taste
• 1/4 cup olive oil
• 2 cans crushed tomatoes (28-oz cans)
