- 300ml whole milk
- 250g blocked stoned dates roughly chopped (or you can use whole pitted dates)
- 2 tsp bicarbonate of soda
- 150g unsalted butter plus extra for the tin
- 150g light muscovado sugar
- 25g treacle
- 100g runny honey
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 300g plain flour
- ½ tsp mixed spice
- to serve (optional) greek yogurt
- 200g granulated sugar
- 125g runny honey
- 250ml whipping cream
- 50g unsalted butter cubed
- 2 tsp sea salt flakes
