Maple Bacon Baked Beans - Ontario Bean Growers

Ingredients

• 6 strips thick-cut bacon
• 1 onion, diced
• 2 garlic cloves, minced
• 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
• 1 1/2 cups crushed tomatoes
• 1/2 cup ketchup
• 1/2 cup chicken broth
• 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
• 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
• 1/4 cup molasses
• 2 Tbsp Dijon mustard
• 1 Tbsp maple syrup
• 1 Tbsp chili powder
• 2 tsp espresso powder
• 1 tsp salt
• 1/2 tsp pepper
• 1 can (19 oz/540 mL) black beans, rinsed and drained
• 1 can (19 oz/540 mL) white beans, rinsed and drained
