Mom’s Mississippi Mud Cake – Garden & Gun

Ingredients

• 1 cup unsalted butter
• ½ cup unsweetened Dutch-processed cocoa powder, sifted
• 2 cups granulated sugar
• 4 eggs, at room temperature and lightly beaten
• 1½ cups all-purpose flour
• Pinch of kosher salt
• 1½ cups pecans, chopped
• 1 cup chocolate chips (use whatever kind you like)
• 1 tsp. vanilla extract
• 2½ cups powdered sugar
• ⅓ cup unsweetened Dutch-processed cocoa powder
• 2 tbsp. unsalted butter, at room temperature
• ½ cup whole milk, at room temperature
• About 3 cups mini marshmallows
