- ½ cup (175g) golden syrup
- ¾ cup (110g) plain (all-purpose) flour
- ⅓ cup (50g) self-raising flour
- 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda (baking soda)
- ⅓ cup (35g) cocoa powder
- ½ cup (110g) caster (superfine) sugar
- ½ cup (125ml) milk
- 1 egg, beaten lightly
- 4 white chocolate Lindt balls (see tips)
- to serve: whipped cream or ice-cream and extra cocoa powder
