Apple Cake –

Ingredients

• 180ml water, for steaming
• 140g unsalted butter, cubed, plus extra for greasing
• 200g self-raising flour (or plain flour with 2 tsp baking powder)
• 140g, plus 1 tbsp light brown soft sugar
• 1 tsp ground cinnamon
• 2 medium eggs
• 2 tbsp milk
• 2 eating apples, peeled, cored and chopped into1cm pieces
• Whipped or clotted cream, optional, for serving
• Vanilla ice cream, optional, for serving
