Apples & Honey Cake – Gourmet Glatt

• ½ cup unsalted margarine, room temperature
• ½ cup sugar
• 2 eggs
• ½ tsp almond extract (vanilla extract can be substituted)
• 1 cup all-purpose flour
• 1 Tbsp baking powder
• ½ tsp kosher salt
• 2-3 Granny Smith or Golden Delicious green apples
• 2 Tbsp honey
• ⅓ cup sugar
• 1 tsp ground cinnamon
