Caramelized Onion Dip - The Village Grocer

Ingredients

• 3 medium yellow onions, sliced thinly
• 2 tablespoons salted butter
• 1 tablespoon olive oil
• 1 teaspoon kosher salt
• 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
• 1 teaspoons of fresh thyme leaves, stems removed
• 3 teaspoons balsamic vinegar
• 2 cups plain Greek yogurt or sour cream
• 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
• Salt and black pepper to taste
• 4 strips of Village Grocer bacon, cooked to crisp and chopped into bacon bits
