Cherry Almond Tea Cakes – Finest of Suppers

Ingredients

• 1 cup butter, softened (2 sticks), plus extra for buttering pan
• ⅔ cup granulated sugar
• ½ tsp vanilla extract
• ½ tsp almond extract
• 2 cups all-purpose flour, plus extra for dusting the pan
• 1 cup almond meal
• ½ tsp baking powder
• ¼ tsp Kosher salt
• ¼ cup cherry preserves
• 24 jarred cherries (I used Morello cherries but you could also use maraschino or Amarena)
• ¼ cup powdered sugar for dusting, optional
