- 1 medium stockfish head (cleaned)
- 6–8 pieces snails (cleaned)
- 1 medium dry fish (cleaned and deboned)
- 1 cup mackerel (fresh or smoked)
- 2 tablespoons crayfish (blended)
- 1 tablespoon locust beans (iru)
- ½ cup dry shrimp (optional but delicious)
- 1 medium onion (blended)
- 3 tablespoons blended pepper mix (scotch bonnet + red bell pepper)
- 2–3 seasoning cubes
- Salt to taste
- 2 cups palm nut cream (or substitute with palm oil)
