Chocolate Almond Torte Recipe - Delicious and Flavorful Dessert

• 3/4 cup sugar, divided
• 3/4 cup ground blanched almonds
• 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
• 1/3 cup HERSHEY'S cocoa
• 1/2 tsp baking soda
• 1/4 tsp salt
• 1/4 cup water
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• 1/4 tsp almond extract

• sliced almonds, maraschino cherries or candied cherries, halved
• 1 cup (0.5 pt (237 ml)) of cold whipping cream
• 1/4 cup of powdered sugar
• 1-1/2 tsp of kirsch (cherry brandy) or 0.25 tsp of almond extract
• 1/3 cup of chopped red candied cherries
• 1 tbsp of butter or margarine
• 2 tbsp of HERSHEY'S cocoa
• 2 tbsp of water
• 1 cup of powdered sugar
• 1/4 tsp of vanilla extract
