Butter Sugar Cookies with Milk Jam

Ingredients

• Butter Sugar Cookies:
• – 2 cups all-purpose flour
• – 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
• – 1/2 teaspoon salt
• – 1 cup sugar
• – 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted Real California butter, room temperature
• – 1 large egg
• – 1 tablespoon Real California milk
• – 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• – About 1/2 cup Milk Jam (see recipe below)
• Milk Jam:
• – 1 quart Real California milk
• – 1 1/4 cups sugar
• – 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
• – 1/2 vanilla bean, split and scraped
