• 5 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon baking powder, (2 ounces)
• 2 teaspoon salt
• 2 cup shortening, (1 pound)
• 1 tablespoon vanilla
• 1 1/2 quart sugar, (3 pounds)
• 8 eggs
• 1 pint evaporated milk
• 1 pint water, mixed with evaporated milk
