- 1 cup white granulated sugar
- 4 tbsp cornstarch
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 cup lemon juice or juice from 2 lemons
- 1 tsp lemon zest
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 4 egg yolks
- 1 pie crust (9 inch)
- For the Meringue:
- 4 egg whites (from the yolks)
- 6 tbsp sugar
