Please Louise Chocolate Cake Recipe | The Cooking Cat

Ingredients

• ½ cup cocoa powder
• ½ tsp baking soda
• ½ cup boiling water
• 2 cups cake flour
• 1 tsp baking powder
• ½ tsp table salt
• 1 cup vegetable oil
• 4 large eggs
• 1 cup buttermilk
• 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
• 1 and ½ cups sugar
• 2 heaped teaspoons of good instant coffee
• ¼ cup sugar
• 1 tub of full fat cream cheese, at room temperature
• 125g (half a cup) unsalted butter or good baking margarine (I like Rama or Stork Country Spread, the brick) at room temperature
• 25ml brandy
• Pinch of salt
