Ice Cream Sundae Cupcakes - Cupcake Fanatic

Ingredients

• 1/2 cup granulated sugar
• 3/8 cup plus 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
• 1/8 cup plus 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder (not dutch-processed)
• 3/8 teaspoon baking powder
• 3/8 teaspoon baking soda
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
• 1/2 egg, room temperature (whisk the whole egg, then measure out half)
• 1/4 cup sour cream, room temperature
• 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
• 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
• 1/4 cup boiling water
• vanilla ice cream (about 1 1/2 quarts), softened
• whipped cream
• fudge sauce or chocolate sauce
• sprinkles (we used chocolate jimmies)
• maraschino cherries
