Ingredients

• 3/4 cup butter, softened
• 1/2 cup sugar
• 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
• 2 eggs
• 1 tsp. vanilla
• 1 1/4 cup sifted all-purpose flour
• 1 tsp. baking soda
• 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
• 1/4 tsp. ground cloves
• 1/4 tsp. ground allspice
• 1/2 tsp. salt
• 2 3/4 cups quick-cooking rolled oats
• 1 cup dried cherries, roughly chopped *or* 1 cup raisins (If using raisins, Carri suggests soaking them in hot water before adding them to the dough.)
