• 1/4 teaspoon (1 ml) salt
• 1/4 teaspoon (1 ml) baking soda
• 2 eggs, separated
• 11/4 cups (310 ml) sugar
• 1/4 cup (60 ml) unsalted butter, softened
• 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) vanilla extract
• 1/2 cup (125 ml) milk
