- 1 lb ground beef (I used 80% lean)
- 16 oz bacon, chopped
- 1/2 medium yellow onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 (25 oz) jar marinara sauce (or your favorite spaghetti sauce)
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 2 tablespoons whole milk (or cream)
- salt and pepper to taste
- fresh basil leaves for garnish
- grated Parmesan cheese for serving
